Royal Antwerp: Losing derby is inconceivable ( Recent Form: W W W D L )
On Sunday, Antwerp plays the derby against rival Beerschot Wilrijk. In the run-up to the burenduel, the Great Old holds an open training session on the Bosuil. The supporters of red and white want to make a sparkling dress rehearsal in the direction of Sunday's derby. The supporters want to wake up their trainer that this derby is very important. Trainer Laszlo Bölöni does not seem awake to the after competition after he easily kept Antwerp in the highest league. Last weekend STVV and Antwerp supported the supporters with a nice match between two teams that went full. With visitors it was wrong in the zone of truth, the home team showed itself more efficiently and won with generous figures. The visitors were first threatening, but it was the Canaries who took the lead with a deviated shot for half an hour. The Great Old had to come even more, so that the STVV attackers also got more room. This resulted in a heavy loss for Antwerp. Despite the painful defeat, the Antwerp coach was not entirely dissatisfied with the performance of his team: "We have played well twice for twenty-five minutes without being able to take advantage of our dominance. After these better periods, the opponent taught us strength, speed, enthusiasm and effectiveness both before and after the rest. We were unable to absorb the tempo accelerations. "
KFCO Wilrijk: Ready for the derby ( Recent Form: D W L D D )
After a draw against Eupen and Lokeren, Beerschot-Wilrijk is heading for Antwerp with a point ahead and with the necessary confidence. In the run-up to the derby, the furniture was saved in the run-up to the derby by Joren Dom (who overthrew the big rival last summer). After missing out on the promotion to the highest division, there are only two games left for Beerschot that have to be won, the derbies against Antwerp. The ball went up and down last weekend in the match between Beerschot and Lokeren. However, she was not full of chances and the first two goals were scored because the referee put the ball twice on the spot. Even before the break, Beerschot was behind. Lokeren was the better team in the second half and Beerschot ran behind an elusive ball. But Dom was right out of nothing. In the last ten minutes we got no winner despite the high voltage. 'We are not yet reaching our very best level, but are slowly approaching,' said Dom, who even became captain after the replacement of Tom Van Hyfte. 'We can make plowing from 1A difficult and that gives confidence for next week. That derby - even if it is in play-off 2 - remains something to look forward to. '
After all, although both teams have no ambition about this play-off 2, the nerves will be tense. For both teams there is only one title left and that is that of the team of the city. Beerschot has been playing twice so far, Antwerp lost heavily last weekend. Beerschot continues to perform poorly outside the home and the supporters of Antwerp will make even more noise than usual. These are going to propel the home team and I see value in an edge of Antwerp on the rest.
