Austria Wien: Four wins in last five games ( Recent Form: W W L W W )
In the meantime, one can certainly speak of a coaching effect. Since Thomas Letsch took over the office on the line, things are going uphill with the team. Four wins from five games since assuming office speak for Letsch. Only against RB Salzburg, the team suffered a bitter 5: 0 defeat. However, this defeat brought the team not out of the concept and it was then retracted a 2-1 win against Altach and a 0-2 victory against the second from the table Sturm Graz. Now Austria is in sixth place with 39 points and could still work its way forward with a great finish to the international places. Admira Wacker Mödling currently holds 46 points and is fifth, which would qualify for a place in the Europa League qualification. The Austrians therefore still have a total of seven games to catch up with the seven-point deficit to the Admira. Crucial to the recent successes had the captain Raphael Holzhauser. Letsch ordered the midfield engine ahead of old coach Thorsten Fink, which means Holzhauser is involved in more offensive action. Especially in the last two games, he showed his importance to the team by scoring twice against Sturm Graz and scoring against Altach. The big drawback, however, is that Holzhauser caught his fifth yellow card against Sturm and thus has to spend the 326th Wiener derby in the stands. Tarkan Serbest also has a yellow card suspension and will miss the team against Rapid Wien. Two extremely heavy casualties that are not replaceable one to one.
Rapid Wien: Three straight wins in the league ( Recent Form: D W L W W )
Just like the arch-rival Austria Wien, the shape curve of Rapid Wien is clearly pointing upwards. All three games have been won. Against St.Pölten, there was a rather laborious 2-1 victory, in Mattersburg the team won 2-4 and against Wolfsberg Rapid won clearly with 5: 1. Now the team is ranked third with 49 points - eight points behind Sturm Graz and only one point ahead of the newly promoted LASK Linz. Particularly noteworthy is the rise in form of striker Giorgi Kvilitaia. The knot of the Georgian seems to have burst - he was able to meet three times against the WAC and against Wolfsberg he scored the goal to 1-0. But also players like Louis Schaub, Thomas Murg or captain Stefan Schwab last offered convincing performances and contribute significantly to the success of the team. Coach Goran Djuricin will be without midfielder Tamas Szanto, striker Joelinton and center-back Christopher Dibon due to serious injuries.
After all, Austria certainly has big staff worries on Sunday and will have to improvise especially in the center after the failures of Rapid-Feindbild Raphael Holzhauser and Tarkan Serbest. Letsch, however, shows courage and lets the "boys" so far ran successfully. The Green-Whites are wide breasted given the results, but the performance is strong. That's why we do not see any value in Rapid bets, even with the best of intentions. Rather, we would try our luck with the double odds 1 / x in the betting odds offered. The violets are aware of their importance and will fight for survival until the last whistle.
